Integrating Software Defender with Aweber

Hint: click on picture to see it full-size

Step 1. Login to your account

Step 2. Go to "Emails" tab

Step 3. Click on "Edit auto-responder email"

Step 4. Fill info

Put the following information into form:

To: your list name on Aweber, for example sd@aweber.com

Subject: anything, like Subscribe

Message body: copy and paste the following text

SUBSCRIBE START

Email: {EMAIL}

Name: {CUSTOMER}

SUBSCRIBE END

Make sure that Enable this emal tick is marked. Then click “Save” button.

Step 5. Login to your Aweber account

Step 6. Select your list from drop-down

Step 7. Click on "Email Parser"

Step 8. Click on "Create Parser Ruleset"

Step 9. Put following information in fields

Description: Software Defender new subscriber (actual description doesn’t really matter)
Trigger Rule: From:[^\n|.]+service\@softwaredefender.com
Match On: Headers
Rule 1: \n[>\s]*Email:[ \t]*(.+?)\n
Match: Body
Store In: Email
Rule 2: \n[>\s]*Name:[ \t]*(.+?)\n
Match: Body
Store In: Name

Then click “Save”.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you don’t have any extra spaces in the end or in the beginning of these lines, otherwise your parser won’t work at all!

Step 10. Activate rule

When rule is created, you will see this page:

Scroll it all way down until you see your rule in list (typically the last one):

Then mark the check-box to activate this rule:

Step 11. Check everything is working

We recommend creating test customer in Software Defender:

Make sure you checked “Send notification to auto-responder option”:

Then go to your Aweber account. You will see subscription request from Software Defender marked as “Unverified”:

That is perfectly fine. In short time this request will be verified by our system, and you don’t need to do anything extra. All new customers will be added with their real names and email addresses.

That’s it!

NOTE: If you decide to integrate your other Aweber lists with your products on Software Defender, you don’t need to create parser again (steps 5-9). Just start from step #10 and activate your existing rule for another list.

Basically, parser should be created just once per Aweber account. And then you just enable this parser for your lists.

However if you have another Aweber account which doesn’t have this parser yet, then you need to create it.
